September 12, 2020 marked 43 years since the death of Black Consciousness leader Steven Bantu Biko.

Biko, widely hailed as the father of Black Consciousness, has been remembered as a fearless political activist who was not afraid of standing against unfairness and injustice.

He died after sustaining injuries in a police cell at the then Pretoria Central Prison on September 12, 1977.
