Dobsonville grandmother’s murder case postponed

The case against the two men accused of the murder of a 59-year-old woman in Dobsonville, Soweto, has been postponed to 2021.

The woman’s 21-year-old granddaughter was allegedly raped during the robbery, which occurred in July.

Aaron Mweba and Nkosinathi Gqoba appeared in the Roodepoort Magistrate’s Court for the crimes on Monday.

Their case has been postponed for further investigations and prosecutors are also waiting for DNA results to be released.
They are due to return to court on February 4.

In a separate incident, the naked body of an unknown woman has been discovered at the Protea Glen Extension 31 sports grounds.

Police believe that she was strangled. Spokesperson Vincent Mashiteng is urging anyone with information to contact the police. – Report by Jozi FM’s Moshe Maswanganyi
